There was a time when diorama-style photography (tilt-shift photography) became a massive trend. These photos mimic the look of a physical scale model by boosting contrast and saturation while heavily blurring the foreground and background. During the film era, this was achieved using bellows or tilt-shift lenses; later, in the digital age, it became common to process images in Photoshop or use “miniature” filters built directly into cameras. In the hands of a master, real-life landscapes were transformed into scenes that looked like nothing but tiny models.
However, times have changed significantly, and we have entered the era of VR. This is where we see a revolutionary difference from the 2D era: the world actually looks small. Please take a moment to enjoy these miniaturized VR images and experience the incredible sense of scale for yourself.
